Primary Mission
As our Restaurant Busser, you provide the highest quality service to guests efficiently and courteously, while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout operating hours.
SCOPE OF WORK + TEAM
- Reports to Hotel Manager and Food & Beverage Supervisor
- Supports food & beverage team, catering, events, pool & bar
Responsibilities
- Walk and stand throughout the shift, approaching and servicing guests with food and beverage requirements in an attentive, friendly, courteous and professional manner. Report all issues and complaints to management.
- Clear, clean and reset tables as needed; perform medium labor up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently or constantly lift, carry, push or move objects.
- Sweep, mop and vacuum floors; ensure restaurant areas and hallways are debris‑free and return room‑service trays to the kitchen for breakdown and bussing.
- Know the restaurant and lounge layout, job functions, menus and specials.
- Perform opening and closing procedures and side‑work duties per station rotation to keep tables and stations stocked, tidy and clean.
- Follow all state liquor laws.
- Handle food and beverage service as required; carry coffee pots and beverages, refilling guests’ cups and glasses.
- Greet and serve guests following policies and procedures for food and beverage service.
- Convey information and ideas clearly; evaluate and select among alternative actions quickly and accurately.
- Work well in stressful, high‑pressure situations and maintain composure.
- Listen to, understand and clarify concerns raised by guests and associates.
- Work with financial information and basic arithmetic to perform cashiering and POS/Micros functions.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance, grooming and proper uniform and name tag.
- Maintain regular attendance per property standards and hotel schedule.
- Coordinate with Executive Chef, Sous Chef and Supervisor on work priorities; provide assistance and perform other duties as requested by management, and attend meetings.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Prior experience: 1+ year in restaurant or hospitality preferred.
IT Expertise:
- Advanced knowledge of computer software (including Microsoft Office, Outlook) and web analytics tools preferred.
Education:
- High School diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
Subject Expertise:
- Working knowledge of property safety and security procedures; maintain a secure environment.
- Report unusual occurrences to Supervisor.
- Read and abide by Associate Handbook regulations.
- Service orientation with excellent customer service and sales skills.
- Effective communication in English.
- Energetic and outgoing.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Follow directions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
- Team player able to work under minimal supervision.
- Multi‑task in fast‑paced environment.
- Basic financial literacy and arithmetic.
- Type 45 wpm; input data and access information on computer.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Opera; preferred.
- Exercise confidentiality and discretion.
