About The Crew

Each season, we bring together a hardworking and diverse group of individuals to form our farm crew. Together, we work as a team to grow beautiful, organic food. Crew members join us with varying levels of experience and leave with a strong foundation in greenhouse propagation, planting, harvesting, and fieldwork. Many past managers have gone on to start their own farms, and we strive for all crew members to leave with a deep understanding of organic agriculture.

We work hard and play hard. The crew works Monday through Friday, with weekends off to explore the area’s stunning natural beauty. There is a mandatory once per month weekend farm duty requirement. We are committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive work environment.

Limited on‑site housing is available in two campers and a tiny house, offered for rent on a first‑come, first‑served basis. While housing can be scarce in mountain towns, we’re happy to help find creative solutions.

Applicants should bring a strong work ethic, the ability to work individually and as part of a team, a readiness to handle all weather conditions, and a positive attitude—while having fun along the way!

Job Duties Include but are not Limited To:
  • Greenhouse propagation.
  • Soil bed preparation and planting (by hand, paper pot, and water wheel).
  • Hoophouse management (pest and disease control, trellising and pruning).
  • Harvesting crops daily (hand and mechanical).
  • Post‑harvest handling: washing, grading, packing, cooler organization, and deliveries.
  • Seedbed preparation, seeding, planting, and cultivation/weeding (hand/hoe).
  • Frequent use of row cover and silage tarps.
  • Optional tractor work for those with skills (not required).
  • Organic weed, insect, and disease management.
  • Irrigation management (moving hand lines, repairing drip systems).
  • Record‑keeping for organic certification.
  • Optional participation in 1–2 farmers markets per month.
  • Occasional tasks: catching lost children and dogs, and choosing great pack house music!
  • Work 45‑50 hours/week; strive for 45 hours max (7:00 am‑4:30 pm). Spring and fall hours may vary with weather.
  • One mandatory weekend per month:
These are not full days, but they do require you to be in close proximity to the farm. The days consist of opening and closing the houses in the morning and evenings, watering seedlings based on needs, and being around throughout the day to water more or adjust walls and doors on housing based on the weather.
  • 45‑minute unpaid lunch break; break room with full kitchen, cappuccino machine, fridge, etc. We try to have lunch together, but there will be times when we need to stagger lunch based on the workload that needs to be done that day.
Experience/Qualifications
  • At least a year of experience working on a vegetable and/or farming operation is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong interest in organic agriculture.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude (sense of humor encouraged, positive attitude required!).
  • Strong sense of urgency—able to work quickly while maintaining quality control.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to new systems; strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Self‑motivation, initiative, and attention to detail.
  • ‑oriented, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Ability to take direction, receive feedback, and ask questions when tasks are not clear.
