A Kroger Bakery Clerk creates an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service, encourages other associates to do the same, establishes and maintains a safe and clean environment, assists the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals, monitors quality assurance standards, and demonstrates Kroger’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

• Prepare items per customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of bakery specials.
• Provide fresh products with correct portion size.
• Recommend bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Use all kitchen equipment per company guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and instructions.
• Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients per recipe.
• Package, label, and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality, review dates, and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock, and inventory merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies.
• Know store layout to locate requested products.
• Stay current with ads for specials.
• Maintain product knowledge and respond to customer inquiries.
• Monitor inventory and note discrepancies.
• Maintain proper temperatures and logs.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers.
• Adhere to food safety regulations.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Notify management of accidents and safety risks.
