As a Team Leader, you’ll provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate the seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office. You’ll be a front-line manager, delivering an outstanding client experience and achieving office growth objectives. You’ll also develop knowledge and skills to excel as a trusted resource on tax topics and products for associates.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a daily team to ensure work is completed on time, with attention to quality standards, priorities, and goals.
  • Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.
  • Assist in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
  • Serve as the point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns and ensure proper scheduling and conflict resolution.
  • Provide leadership and development for tax office associates; train and coach to execute Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions.
  • Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates; create associate work schedules and manage timekeeping and overtime.
  • Prepare tax returns as required and conduct timely performance reviews; address associate performance issues with appropriate support channels.
Qualifications
  • Multi-unit people management experience in retail, restaurant, banking, or related industry (preferred).
  • 2+ years as a Tax Professional or equivalent experience.
  • Passion for customer service with a proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns) and annual continuing education to meet IRS/state requirements.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office; ability to work a flexible schedule and adapt to business needs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (or higher).
