Duggar & Traylor, LLC is a tax based accounting practice in Jacksonville, FL. We are seeking a tax staff accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in various accounting functions, with a focus on tax accounting and regulatory reporting.

We work with many small businesses and individuals to provide tax and accounting services. We are looking for a dependable professional with excellent communication skills and experience working with Quick Books accounting software.

Responsibilities:

• Duties including data entry, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, journal entries, analyzing and recording payroll entries, and financial statement preparation
• Manage numerous monthly and quarterly accounting tasks working with various clients
• Payroll and sales tax return preparation
• Compile and file Form 1099s
• Communication with clients and staff on various issues
• Assist with tax preparation input

Skills/

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, or comparable work experience
• 1-2 years of full charge accounting experience in public accounting (must be able to receive raw data and be able to prepare year-end reports that are tax return ready)
• Knowledge of debits and credits, general ledger accounting tasks
• Knowledge of Quick Books accounting software (online and desktop) and ability to troubleshoot with clients
• Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook
• Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• High attention to detail
• Tax return preparation and CPA firm experience a plus
• Experience with Pro Series tax preparation software a plus

Schedule

• Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm, ability to work overtime during our peak season February through April
• In-office position
