Senior Accounting Specialist

Our client, a logistics and transportation-focused organization, is seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist to join their team. As a Senior Accounting Specialist, you will be part of the accounting function supporting day-to-day operations, month-end close, compliance readiness, and cash monitoring. If you're a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys accuracy, process improvement, and partnering across teams, this role is built for you.

You'll coordinate and guide Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities while helping ensure strong internal controls and reliable financial reporting.

** Pay Range: 24-36 DOE*
* ** Shift: 8 hour shift between the hours of 7am-6pm M-F*
* ** What's the Job?*
* + Support daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, fixed assets tracking, and accounting record maintenance.

+ Coordinate and provide day-to-day guidance to the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable team to support timely processing and accurate financial records.

+ Review AR/AP activity for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness, helping maintain clean and reliable accounting data.

+ Perform monthly closing procedures within Cargo Wise One and prepare/analyze month-end reporting results.

+ Assist with maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and documentation that support internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance.

** What's Needed?*
* + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.

+ 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience preferred, with strong experience supporting financial reporting and reconciliation processes.

+ Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus strong analytical and problem-solving ability.

+ Proficiency with accounting software systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or similar tools.
