Construction Inspectors (Remote Site Locations) (Biotech)
GPI seeks candidates to fill highway and bridge construction inspector positions across various sites in and around the Jacksonville, FL region. Candidates should be motivated, able to work independently or with GPI or DOT project teams, and available for contractor hours, including day or night shifts and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities- Perform daily field inspections and observations of contractors’ work on heavy highway and/or bridge construction projects, including earthwork, subgrade, asphalt, concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel, safety devices, and utilities.
- Measure, compute, record, and maintain contract quantities for contractor payment.
- Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and standards.
- Perform and/or observe material sampling and testing in accordance with project standards and specifications.
- Ensure contractors’ work/materials meet standards and specifications.
- Document daily project progress, including work performed, conformance/nonconformance with plans/specifications, staffing, equipment, contract quantities, and extra work.
- Enter and record project progress, materials, payments, and documentation in Word, Excel, or other electronic software programs.
- Identify and communicate project issues to project managers and contractors.
- Identify, assess, and communicate unsafe conditions with contractors.
- FDOT or other DOT construction inspection experience preferred.
- Certifications in relevant fields or ability to obtain certification.
- NICET certification considered a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, basic computer, and mobile device skills.
