Position: Superintendent
Reports to: Project Manager / Vice President of Construction.
Department: Construction and Maintenance.

Job Summary: The Superintendent manages on‑site construction activities, overseeing subcontractors, schedules, safety, and quality control to meet project objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate and supervise all on‑site construction activities.
- Schedule and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and laborers.
- Review and understand project drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Primary on‑site point of contact for subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Oversee daily construction activities for efficiency and safety.
- Conduct regular site meetings to review progress and address issues.
- Ensure materials, equipment, and labor are properly allocated.
- Monitor and inspect work to ensure compliance with standards.
- Identify and resolve issues related to workmanship, materials, or deviations.
- Work with the Quality Control Manager on assurance measures and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain a safe work environment and enforce PPE usage.
- Monitor the construction schedule and ensure milestones are met.
- Track project costs and stay within budget.
- Address delays or cost overruns with corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit daily reports on progress and issues.
- Maintain clear communication with clients and address concerns.
- Provide regular updates to the Project Manager and stakeholders.
- Ensure scope or schedule changes are communicated and approved.
- Maintain accurate records: daily logs, inspections, safety reports.
- File required project documentation: permits, inspections, approvals.
- Prepare final project closeout documentation.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; certifications such as OSHA 30‑Hour, CCM desirable. - Experience:
Minimum 5 years as a Superintendent or similar construction role. - Knowledge:
In‑depth understanding of construction processes, techniques, materials, industry standards; federal government contracting knowledge a plus. - Leadership:
Strong team management and decision‑making skills. - Communication:
Excellent interpersonal and written communication. - Technical:
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts; proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office. - Problem‑solving:
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Work on construction sites: standing, walking, climbing.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Travel to various project sites as required.
- Primarily on‑site with some office work.
- Availability for extended hours, including weekends.

- Project Management or General Management (PMP or Certified Manager) certification training.
