5) Responsibilities
- Perform oversight of construction personnel working on a small assigned area of the construction site.
- Ensure construction work matches construction plans.
- Identify deficiencies in constructed structures.
- Review contract terms and conditions.
- Ensure construction timelines, costs, and materials are in compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
- Review the work of junior staff.
- Document deficiencies, expected cost overruns, materials issues, and other related construction issues or risks.
- Prepare related reports (e.g., monthly progress reports, etc.).
- Maintain daily report of construction activities.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Communicate construction issues to project leadership.
- Escalate issues to appropriate design staff for resolution.
- Communicate issue resolution and close the loop with project leadership when documented issues are resolved.
- High School diploma or Vocational Technical degree or equivalent.
- 8 years of related experience.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
- Travel frequency contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and essential functions of the position.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree.
- Good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
- Intermediate knowledge of arithmetic.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and quickly learn new computer, smartphone or related applications and programs.
- Advanced knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in construction.
- Ability to read, understand, interpret and explain construction plans and drawings, contract provisions, and specifications.
