Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids for water and wastewater treatment plants, utilities, pump stations, and other heavy civil infrastructure projects. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to develop detailed estimates and support successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed and competitive bids for water and wastewater treatment plant projects.
  • Develop accurate quantity takeoffs for excavation, backfill, yard piping, process and mechanical piping, concrete work, and civil site development.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to ensure complete and accurate estimates.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Analyze project costs and develop estimates for labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracted work.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality.
  • Develop project schedules that align with bid requirements and project timelines.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and leadership throughout the bidding process.
  • Maintain historical cost data and estimating records for future projects.
  • Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous process improvement.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience estimating heavy civil, industrial, or mechanical construction projects is required.
  • Experience estimating water and wastewater treatment plants, sewage treatment facilities, pump stations, and utility infrastructure is required.
  • Strong knowledge of civil site work, excavation, concrete construction, utilities, and process piping is essential.
  • Experience with residential, commercial, and industrial site development is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience working on projects in the Jacksonville area is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Software Experience
  • Proficiency with HCSS (Heavy Bid and Heavy Job) is required.
  • Experience using Bid2 Win for estimating projects is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Procore for construction project management is an asset.
  • Experience working with Primavera P6 for project scheduling is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam for reviewing construction drawings and documentation is beneficial.
  • Experience using Plan Swift for quantity takeoffs is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Pipeline and Building Connected is considered an advantage.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
  • Ability to identify project risks and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction estimating software.
