Job Description & How to Apply Below
Our client is one of the Top ENR-ranked contractors in both the Southeast and the nation. They're looking to add an Assistant Project Manager to their team. This is an opportunity to work on complex commercial projects, gain broader project-management responsibility, and build toward a Project Manager role with a company that has been established in the Florida market for decades.
WhyThis Role Stands Out
- Work on complex commercial, healthcare, institutional, education, industrial, and multifamily projects.
- Join a contractor with a long-standing presence in Jacksonville and Northeast Florida.
- Gain exposure to the full project lifecycle — not just RFIs and submittals.
- Clear path toward Project Manager and future leadership opportunities.
- Strong emphasis on mentorship, development, and promoting from within.
- Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
- Opportunity to build valuable experience with sophisticated projects and experienced project teams.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and owners.
- Assist with scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Support subcontract and purchase order administration.
- Review subcontractor pay applications.
- Assist with estimating and preconstruction activities.
- Track project progress and help resolve schedule, cost, and coordination issues.
- Support projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- 4+ years of commercial construction or related project-management experience preferred.
- General contractor experience strongly preferred.
- Background as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, or similar role.
- Experience with commercial, healthcare, institutional, industrial, education, multifamily, or other complex projects.
- Working knowledge of RFIs, submittals, change orders, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and cost management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Construction, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
If you are a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager who wants more ownership, stronger project exposure, and a legitimate path into Project Management, this could be an excellent next move.
