Construction Engineer

Optomi, in partnership with a leading organization in the telecommunications industry, is seeking a Senior Construction Engineer to join their team for a remote, 6-12 month contract opportunity. This individual will be responsible for overseeing complex telecommunications infrastructure projects, with a focus on Outside Plant (OSP) construction, aerial and underground fiber networks, and project delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing construction projects, coordinating vendors and contractors, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

• Working remotely while supporting large-scale telecommunications infrastructure projects.
• Taking ownership of complex OSP and fiber construction initiatives.
• Collaborating with engineering teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Playing a key role in expanding and improving telecommunications networks.
• Managing projects from initial planning through final completion.

• Oversee OSP telecommunications construction projects, including aerial and underground infrastructure.
• Manage projects throughout the full lifecycle, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
• Develop and review project plans, construction methodologies, and network designs.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage multiple complex construction projects simultaneously.
• Coordinate project completion and handoffs to operational teams.

• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong experience with Outside Plant (OSP) engineering and telecommunications construction.
• Hands-on knowledge of aerial and underground fiber infrastructure construction.
• Experience managing telecommunications construction projects from planning through completion.
• Proven ability to manage contractors, vendors, project budgets, and timelines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
• Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
• Experience with civil construction, fiber network management, or OSP operations is a plus.
