Atari## Description Atari, one of the world’s most iconic entertainment brands, is a pioneer in interactive entertainment, with operations spanning gaming, e-commerce, licensing, and hardware. The company is seeking a creative and passionate Industrial Designer to help establish its internal product design capabilities.
Overview    This is a remote role, and candidates must currently be based in the United States. You will create and iterate on industrial designs for electronics and collectibles that surprise, delight, and connect with fans, supporting the design process from early concepts through production. The work covers beautiful, functional, and brand-appropriate consoles, controllers, and collectibles. This is a hands-on role for a designer who enjoys prototyping, iterating, and solving real-world product challenges in a collaborative, fast-paced team that values creativity, ownership, and bringing products to life quickly.
What you will do
• Design products that capture the heart of Atari brands and licensed collaborators while satisfying audience needs.

• Collaborate closely with the Creative team to bring 3D designs to life, and help develop and mature the existing product design language.

• Generate multiple concept directions for assigned projects and advance strong solutions, preparing concepts for user testing through prototypes or renderings.

• Support designers in communicating the visual and physical aspects of designs, and develop manufacturable, durable products by identifying and helping resolve design, engineering, and material issues.

• Help drive research and development in new materials, 3D rendering, and on-site production, and support the design team with creative feedback and production assistance.

• Collaborate cross-functionally and with vendors to maintain project momentum, deliver high-quality design solutions on schedule, and communicate design strategy and creative process to internal stakeholders.

• Take part in regular group design critiques and planning and concepting meetings, identify social, industry, and technology trends that influence the work, and set and meet design project deadlines with team support.
What you will bring
• A strong portfolio illustrating creative skills across the design process, plus great sketching, concept generation, and design development skills and knowledge of design methodology.

• Excellent visualization skills in hand sketching and digital 2D and 3D rendering, and prototyping, mock-up, and modeling ability.

• An understanding of prototyping, materials, and manufacturing processes, including plastic injection molding and metal die casting, and familiarity with color, materials, and finishes.

• Strong knowledge of 2D, 3D, and rendering software, including Rhino 3D, AutoCAD, Sketchbook, and Key Shot, and strong hands-on prototyping skills across materials and methods.

• An interest in and knowledge of consumer electronics products, pop culture trends, fandoms, and the licensing landscape, plus acute attention to detail and an understanding of human factors and design trends.

• An entrepreneurial, self-motivated approach, strong creative and analytical problem solving, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on time.

• Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

• A BS or BA in Industrial Design, Toy Design, or a related field, 5 to 7 years of experience as a product designer, preferably within entertainment, licensing, or creative industries, and 1 to 3 years of consumer product development experience.
