Miami, Florida OB Hospitalist Locum Tenens

Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Board Certified OB/GYN Physicians for a long-term Hospitalist locum tenens opportunity in South Florida beginning December 31, 2025 .

This startup program offers the opportunity to help establish a new hospitalist service line at a major regional facility serving a diverse, high-volume patient population. Providers will enjoy consistent 24-hour shifts, collaborative nursing and anesthesia support, and full access to Level III NICU resources.

Assignment Details:

• Contract Type: Locum Tenens
• Start Date: December 31, 2025
• Duration: Long-term (6+ months)
• Schedule: 24-hour in-house shifts (8:00 AM – 8:00 AM)
• Shift Availability: 5–15 shifts per month
• Setting: Hospital-based OB/GYN Hospitalist Program
• Patient Volume:
  • Annual Deliveries: ~1,700
  • Annual OBED Visits: ~4,300
  • Annual Surgeries: ~300
  • Triage: ~360 visits/month
• Beds: 473
• L&D ORs: 3
• NICU: Level III
• Staffing Model:
  • 1 Physician (24/7 coverage)
  • 1 Certified Nurse Midwife (1728 hours/year)
• EMR: Meditech

Clinical Scope & Responsibilities:

• Manage unassigned OB/GYN patients, triage, and obstetric admissions
• Labor management and deliveries
• Postpartum and GYN rounding and discharge
• Inpatient and ER consults
• Care of maternal transfers and collaboration with MFM
• Supervise CNMs as needed
• Assist in emergent GYN surgeries (D&C, laparoscopy) with surgical backup
• Participate in obstetric emergencies and rapid responses
• Coordinate follow-up care for discharged patients

Candidate Requirements:

• Licensure: Active and unrestricted Florida Medical License
• Board Certification: Required (OB/GYN)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years post-residency
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS required
• Procedures: Laparoscopy and D&C
• Minimum Deliveries: 50 required prior to consideration
• Credentialing: Temp privileges available for clean files (final board approval December)
