KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is part of the KIPP national network. In the 2025-26 school year, the region will comprise four schools educating 3,000+ students, kindergarten through twelfth grade, in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida:

Kindergarten – 8th grade - KIPP VOICE Academy:
Kindergarten – 8th grade - KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy:
Kindergarten – 8th grade - KIPP Bold City High School: 9th – 12th grade
Hours and schedule vary by school. Wednesday is a student early release day to accommodate weekly professional development and content team meetings.
Position OverviewKIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks middle school teachers for our fifth through eighth grade classrooms in the 2025-26 school year. Teachers are assigned one grade level and are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their Principal.
There are four “home room” teachers on each grade level who are each responsible for teaching a core subject. Class size is typically about 26 students per class. Subjects include English Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, and Science. Please indicate in the application what grade levels and/or subject area you prefer. Relevant certification should also be indicated in the application. Fifth grade is considered part of our middle school model.
Compensation And Benefits
Starting salary for a first-year lead teacher is $50,000.

Some details about stipends and bonuses may change by school year; terms would be outlined in an offer letter if issued.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree
- Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification in one of the following areas:
- Elementary Education K-6 for grades 5–6
- Math, Science, English, or Social Studies 5–9 for a specific subject in grades 5–8
- Secondary Math, English, or Social Studies 6–12 for a specific subject in grades 6–8
- Specific science area 6–12 for science positions in grades 6–8
- At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement

- Background check required by law
Highly Preferred Qualifications
- Florida Reading Endorsement (or reading competency coursework in progress) if teaching ELA
- ESOL Endorsement (or coursework in progress)
- Two or more years of teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in a relevant grade level
