Overview
Immediate Instructional Math Coach (K-8) at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools. This year-round, certified, school-based role coaches 4th-8th grade math teachers, observes and provides feedback, models lessons, and supports a caseload of teachers. The projected caseload is 5 teachers in 4th-8th grade. The coach collaborates with regional academic teams and school-based leadership to support math instruction and professional development.
Responsibilities- Own the middle grades math content teams in collaboration with the regional academic team
- Conduct walk-throughs focused on urgent academic monitoring and respond to observation data in real time through coaching
- Analyze grade-level or school-level data trends and adjust instruction and coaching accordingly
- Track all data (data meetings, lesson planning feedback, observation feedback) in the regional performance platform
- Collaborate with school-based administrators to support classroom culture and routines that support math instruction
- Lead professional development and collaborate with peers and the regional/central academic teams
- Lead or model math instruction when a teacher is out, and be certified to support students as needed
- Engage in ongoing professional development and growth, leveraging regional and network resources
- Establish and uphold school culture norms and hold teachers and scholars accountable
- Promote equity and model inclusive, identity-conscious dialogue
- Work with the school-based leadership team to achieve school goals
- Share knowledge of best practices in middle grades math to lead professional development
- Other duties as assigned by school or regional leadership
- Salary: $53,000

Requirements
- Commitment to KIPP’s mission and core values (high expectations, growth mindset, commitment to team, trust, joy, sustainability)
- Bachelor’s degree
- Relevant Florida Certification or equivalent in Middle Grades Math 5-9, Elementary Education K-6, or Secondary Math 6-12
- At least four years of teaching experience with a proven track record in middle school math
- Demonstrated expertise in middle grades math instruction
- Experience in teacher leadership roles (e.g., grade-level chair, teacher coach, PD facilitator)
Preferred / Highly Preferred
- Middle Grades Math certification with FLDOE
- Reading and/or ESOL endorsement
- Master’s degree in Math or Math Education
- Experience as a math coach
