Hours vary slightly by school.

  • K‑8 Staff – 7:30 am – 4:30 pm; K‑8 Students – 8:00 am – 3:30 pm;
    Wednesday dismissal 1:30 pm.
  • High School Staff – 6:45 am – 3:45 pm;
    High School Students – 7:15 am – 2:30 pm;
    Wednesday dismissal 12:30 pm.

Every Wednesday is a student early release day for teaching staff professional development.

Job Description

Position Overview

Lead Elementary teachers are assigned a grade level and are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with teams, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their Principal.

Current Model
  • Kindergarten‑2nd Grade – some lead teachers share responsibility with a certified fellow in a co‑teaching model. Class size ≈ 26 students. Other K‑2 classrooms feature a single certified teacher and a paraprofessional.
  • 3rd‑4th Grade – lead teachers are departmentalized. A single lead teacher teaches specific subjects. Class size ≈ 26 students.
Compensation & Benefits

Starting salary for a first‑year lead teacher is $50,000.

Qualifications Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or eligibility in K‑6 or PK‑3
  • At least one complete year of teaching experience with proven high achievement
  • Commitment to inclusive, healthy, empowering community
  • Background check as required by law

Preferred Qualifications
  • Florida Reading Endorsement or coursework in progress (if teaching ELA)
  • ESOL Endorsement or coursework in progress
  • Two or more years of teaching experience with proven high achievement at a relevant grade level
