Job Purpose
Join a team committed to student greatness. As a 2nd Grade Teacher, you will design lesson plans, establish effective rapport with students, staff, and parents, and motivate learners to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge.

How You Will Impact Education

  • Plan and implement a program of instruction that adheres to the company's philosophy and goals.
  • Create purposeful lesson plans that maximize time on task and provide real‑world, application‑based examples.
  • Review student records to understand each student’s abilities and needs, maintaining accurate records.
  • Use differentiated instruction and diagnostic assessment to address student needs and generate progress reports.
  • Refer students with suspected learning problems to appropriate support personnel.
  • Coordinate class field trips and prepare students for state‑required assessments.
  • Stay current in subject‑matter knowledge and share insights to improve curriculum.
  • Assist in on‑going curriculum revision and selection of instructional materials.
  • Become acquainted with supplemental services beneficial to students.

Provide a Classroom Environment Conducive to Learning

  • Create an environment appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  • Maintain positive rapport, patience, and nurturing support for growth.
  • Ensure the classroom is clean, safe, and displays student work.
  • Implement policies governing student conduct and develop reasonable rules.

Instructional Planning

  • Develop lesson plans aligned with guidelines and goals.
  • Plan individual and group learning activities to meet objectives and student needs.
  • Prepare for classes and provide evidence of preparation.
  • Collaborate in curriculum planning meetings.
  • Incorporate diagnostic information into Individual Education Plans (IEP).
  • Ensure protection of supplies and materials for effective instruction.

School/Community Relations

  • Foster cooperative relationships with parents and guardians.
  • Communicate consistently and positively with parents and colleagues.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and parent communication events.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to CSUSA’s mission.
  • Strong time‑management and organizational skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SIS, and email.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and best practices.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; valid teaching certification.
  • 1–3 years successful teaching experience.
  • Knowledge of grade‑specific content and learning theory.
  • Commitment to CSUSA values and successful background check.
  • Adherence to the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession.
  • Ability to perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Usual office working conditions.

Physical Demands
No physical exertion required. Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Travel within or outside the state as needed.
