Overview
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks a High School Math Teacher for the school year. Teachers will be responsible for at least one subject area, creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full responsibilities are outlined by the school leader.
School Model and EnvironmentKIPP Bold City's vision is a high school built on student voice and choice. The school offers options including honors classes, Advanced Placement (AP) courses for all, and career/technical education. As the school grows, the plan includes adding more career tracks and Dual Enrollment opportunities, plus a variety of extracurriculars and sports. Electives are determined by student interest and teacher certification, and foreign language teachers and elective teachers should apply through a separate posting.
The current campus is Bold City High School at the McDuff campus, 1440 McDuff Avenue North.
- K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm; K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm;
Wednesday dismissal: 1:30pm - High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm;
High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm;
Wednesday dismissal: 12:30pm
Every Wednesday is a student early release day to support weekly professional development and content team meetings. Wellness Wednesdays may affect staff hours.
Compensation and Benefits- Starting salary for a first-year lead teacher: $50,000

- Potential stipends and opportunities to earn additional compensation; eligibility depends on FLDOE certification and millage stipend status

- Bachelor's Degree
- Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility (Math 5-9 or Math 6-12)
- At least one full year of teaching experience with a track record of high achievement

Preferred Qualifications
- Florida Reading Endorsement or reading coursework in progress
- ESOL Endorsement
- Two or more years of secondary teaching experience with a proven track record
