Position: 2026–2027 Lead High School Teacher Candidate Pool (Anticipated)

Overview

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks high school teachers for 9th-12th grade classrooms in the  school year. We are building a candidate pool for Lead High School teachers anticipated for the 2026–2027 school year across our network. While this is not a guarantee of placement, selected candidates in the pool may be invited to interview when openings arise.

Responsibilities
  • Teach at least one subject area and create a positive classroom environment
  • Implement curriculum, assess students, collaborate with their team
  • Build relationships with families, and perform other duties as assigned
  • Full teacher responsibilities are outlined by the school leader
School Model and Context

KIPP Bold City s vision is to be a high school built on student voice and choice. The school offers honors, Advanced Placement classes, career/technical education, and dual enrollment options. Extracurriculars and sports are available. The location for Bold City High School is the McDuff campus, 1440 McDuff Avenue North. The high school model will evolve as more grade levels are added;

core content areas include science, history, ELA, and math. Homeroom and multiple classes in the subject area are typical; teaching loads may vary. Electives are selected by the school leader; please apply to this pool if you are interested as an elective teacher.

Compensation And Benefits
  • Starting salary for a first-year lead teacher is $50,000

Qualifications
  • Bachelor s Degree
  • Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification in one of the following areas: 6-12 Math, 6-12 ELA, 6-12 Social Science, 6-12 Biology/Chemistry, etc.
  • At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom

  • Passing a background check, as required by law

Preferred Qualifications
  • Florida Reading Endorsement (or coursework in progress) if teaching English Language Arts
  • ESOL Endorsement (or coursework in progress)
  • Two or more years of teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom at a relevant grade level
