Becoming Collegiate Academy is Jacksonville’s first HBCU-inspired elementary school, founded to prepare students for success in college and life. At BCA, we don’t just teach—we inspire. In the 2026–2027 school year, BCA will serve Kindergarten–5th grade. As our village continues to grow, we are seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide individualized instruction and support for students with diverse learning needs. Special Education Teachers will design and implement accommodations and modifications, collaborate with general education teachers, and use data to monitor student progress. This role is ideal for educators who are patient, resourceful, and passionate about helping every student reach their full potential.

The Role:

As a Special Education Teacher at Becoming Collegiate Academy, your main responsibility will be to help students with special education needs reach their full potential through personalized learning activities and experiences. Your role will be crucial in providing an inclusive and supportive environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to grow academically and personally.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
• Experience: Experience in a classroom setting is strongly preferred

Expectations: Our expectations for special education teachers include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, district, and school Special Education regulations and policies
• Develop and manage the IEPs and ensure all requirements of the IEP are met
• Oversee the development, revision, and execution of student IEPs and 504 Plans
