Join KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools in our effort to build a candidate pool for Lead Middle School Teachers for the 2026–2027 school year. Candidates selected into the pool may be invited to interview when positions become available.

Position OverviewLead Middle School Teacher for grades 5–8 (including 5th grade as part of the middle school model). One grade level per teacher; responsibilities include classroom instruction across core subjects, student assessment, collaboration with team members, and family engagement.
Core Responsibilities- Develop and deliver engaging curriculum in English Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, and Science.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student achievement.
- Assess student learning and adjust instruction as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff.
- Maintain communication with families and participate in professional development.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Florida Teaching Certification or eligibility for certification in one of the following areas:
- Elementary Education K‑6 for 5th or 6th grade ELA, Math, Science, or Social Studies.
- English, Math, Science, or Social Science for grades 5‑8 (5‑9 for certain subjects).
- English, Math, Science, or Social Science for grades 6‑8 (6‑12 for certain subjects).
- At least one full year of teaching experience with a proven record of high student achievement.
- Commitment to KIPP values: high expectations, growth mindset, teamwork, trust, joy, and sustainability.
- Background check clearance.
- Florida Reading Endorsement or ongoing coursework.
- ESOL Endorsement or ongoing coursework.
- Two or more years of proven teaching success in a relevant grade level.
- Starting salary for a first‑year Lead Teacher: $50,000.
