Teacher – ESE – Varying Exceptionalities
Salary: Beginning salary $48,700. Additional referendum money available for the next four years starting at $7,730 for the 25–26 school year; teachers hired during the school year will receive a prorated supplement amount based on hire date.
Job SummaryGuide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals in harmony with district objectives. Establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects, communicating them to students. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media, consistent with the physical constraints of the location and the diverse needs and capabilities of students. Implement the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals in both instruction and action.
Minimum QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: None required; salary based on verified years of teaching experience.
Certifications & Licenses: Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in an appropriate subject area.
Position‑SpecificMinimum Qualifications
- ESE Certified Behavior Analyst – Three years successful teaching or work experience with students on the autism spectrum and/or behaviorally complex needs; board certification as a Behavior Analyst and Florida teaching certification in at least one ESE, Guidance/Counseling, or School Psychology (Autism Spectrum Disorder endorsement preferred).
- ESE Intervention Representative – Five years successful classroom teaching experience in exceptional student education or a combination of exceptional/regular education. Background in behavior management strongly recommended;
Florida certification in at least one ESE, Administration/Supervision, or Educational Leadership. - ESE Lead – Three years experience working with students with disabilities; eligible for Florida teaching certification in an appropriate subject area.
- ESE Site Coach – Three years experience working with students with emotional/behavioral disabilities or autism; certification in at least one area of exceptional student education (autism certification or endorsement required) and one core content area or K‑6 certification.
- Knowledge of subject content.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
- Ability to plan and implement a program of study that meets individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
- Ability to devote additional hours beyond the workday for grading and lesson‑plan preparation.
- Ability to manage students and multiple tasks.
