Job Purpose

To join a team dedicated to inspiring and motivating young learners while putting students first in education. As a 1st Grade Teacher, you will develop lesson plans consistent with established guidelines, build rapport with students, staff, and parents, and motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge for a strong educational foundation.

How You Will Impact Education
  • Plan and implement a program of instruction that adheres to the company’s philosophy, goals, and objectives.
  • Make purposeful and appropriate lesson plans that maximize teaching strategies and time on task.
  • Present subject matter to maximize learning and provide real‑world, application‑based examples.
  • Review student records to understand each student’s abilities and needs; maintain accurate records.
  • Strive to maximize students’ educational achievement.
  • Use a variety of learning modalities and differentiated instruction in each lesson.
  • Utilize diagnostic assessment frequently; assess strengths and weaknesses and provide appropriate activities.
  • Generate progress reports as required and refer students with suspected learning problems to support personnel.
  • Coordinate class field trips as required and prepare students for state‑required achievement assessments.
  • Stay current in subject‑matter knowledge and learning theory, and share this knowledge to improve the curriculum.
  • Assist in curriculum revision, selection of instructional materials, and familiarization with supplemental services.
Classroom Environment
  • Create a conducive learning environment appropriate to students’ maturity and interests.
  • Maintain positive rapport, demonstrate patience, and nurture children’s growth.
  • Ensure the classroom is clean, safe, and displays student work; implement all relevant conduct policies.
  • Develop reasonable classroom and playground rules in accordance with CSUSA policy and maintain order consistently.
Instructional Planning
  • Develop lesson plans consistent with guidelines and goals.
  • Plan individual and group learning activities to meet objectives and student needs.
  • Prepare for classes and demonstrate preparation upon request.
  • Collaborate with staff during curriculum planning meetings.
  • Incorporate diagnostic information in the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Take precautions to protect supplies, equipment, and materials needed for instruction.
School/Community Relations
  • Establish cooperative relations and communicate with parents/guardians when appropriate.
  • Communicate clearly, consistently, and positively with parents via all appropriate mediums.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and participate in parent communication activities.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities to support a positive school culture as required.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to the position and CSUSA’s mission and values.
  • Possess strong time‑management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, students, parents, community, and administration.
  • Communicate orally, in writing, and listen actively; negotiate when needed.
  • Be consistently punctual, follow instructions, respond to management direction, and solicit feedback to improve.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Student Information System (SIS), and email.
  • Seek ways to improve and promote quality; implement best practices and positive character education.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent; possession of a valid teaching certification (as appropriate).
  • Minimum of one to three years of successful teaching experience (may include Student Teaching Internship).
  • Command of grade‑specific content and theoretical knowledge of learning theory, motivation, reinforcement, evaluation, and feedback techniques.
