Teacher - Elem Pre-K

Salary: $48,700 starting; additional Referendum money available four years starting at $7,730 for 25‑26 school year; teachers hired during school year receive prorated supplement based on hire date.
Job Summary:
Guides the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals, establishes clear objectives for lessons, employs a variety of instructional techniques and media, implements district philosophy of education.
- Meet and instruct assigned classes in designated locations and times.
- Plan a program of study that meets individual needs, interests, and abilities of students; prepare classes and document preparation.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Supervise students to protect them from harmful conditions and maintain safety.
- Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide progress reports; maintain accurate records.
- Diagnose learning disabilities, seek assistance from district specialists.
- Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and maintain order; encourage students to set standards.
- Be available to students and parents for education‑related purposes outside instructional day when required.
- Plan and supervise teacher aides/volunteers; evaluate their performance.
- Attend staff meetings; serve on staff committees as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: None.
- Certification: Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in appropriate subject area.
- Knowledge of subject content.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills.
- Ability to plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Ability to devote additional hours beyond the workday for grading, lesson preparation, etc.
- Ability to manage students.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
