Overview
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks a High School Math Teacher for the school year. Teachers will be responsible for at least one subject area and are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their school leader.
Location
: KIPP Bold City High School, McDuff campus located at 1440 McDuff Avenue North.
KIPP Bold City's vision is to be a high school built on student voice and choice. Bold City offers honors classes, Advanced Placement classes, and career/technical education. As the school grows, more career tracks and Dual Enrollment may be added. Extracurriculars and sports are available. Teachers should align with our philosophies around student voice and choice and be flexible to meet student interests.
Core content areas at the high school level include science, history, ELA, and math. Lead teachers will likely have a homeroom class and teach several classes in their subject area; some teaching loads may vary. Electives are selected by the school leader according to student interest and teacher certification.
ResponsibilitiesTeach and assess students in math, create a positive classroom environment, implement curriculum, and collaborate with grade-level teams and families.
Serve as a lead teacher with a possible homeroom and multiple classes within the subject area.
Support a student-centered model emphasizing student voice and choice and participate in professional development and content team meetings.

Starting salary for a first-year lead teacher: $50,000

Salary and stipends are subject to change annually. Some stipends may require specific certifications.
Bachelor's Degree
Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility (Math 5-9 or Math 6-12)
At least one year of teaching experience with a track record of high achievement
Demonstrated alignment with KIPP values: high expectations, growth mindset, commitment to team, trust, joy, sustainability
Commitment to creating an inclusive, healthy, empowering community for students
Passing a background check
Highly Preferred Qualifications
Florida Reading Endorsement (or coursework in progress)
ESOL Endorsement
Two or more years of secondary teaching experience with a proven track record
