The 2025‑2026 KIPP Jacksonville region will comprise four schools educating more than 3,000 students from kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Teaching hours vary by school. Teachers work Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours.
- K‑8 staff: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm; K‑8 students: 8:00 am – 3:30 pm;
Wednesday dismissal at 1:30 pm - High school staff: 6:45 am – 3:45 pm;
High school students: 7:15 am – 2:30 pm;
Wednesday dismissal at 12:30 pm
Every Wednesday is a student early release day, allowing teachers to participate in professional development and content team meetings.

This role is available for an immediate start date at KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy (2525 W. 1st Street).
Position OverviewThe Social Worker is a year‑round, certified position that works closely with families, school counselors, teachers, students, and school leaders to enhance the school’s ability to meet its academic mission. The Social Worker identifies and supports students and families in eliminating barriers that impact learning. Success is measured by improving student social, emotional, behavioral, and academic outcomes and by acting as a liaison with community agencies to ensure services.
The role reports directly to the Assistant Principal of Operations and works regionally with the Manager of Student Support Services. Hours mirror the staff hours of the school the role is based at.
Specific Duties- Conduct assessments of individuals and families to improve student outcomes.
- Use reliable and valid assessments to design interventions that remove learning barriers.
- Develop school‑wide prevention initiatives and policies related to attendance, truancy, safety, violence prevention, positive culture, and social/emotional health.
- Conduct home visits, when necessary, in partnership with the school counselor’s attendance plan.
- Complete assessments of campus needs to prioritize service delivery.
- Provide consultation to school personnel, parents/guardians, and community partners to enhance understanding of student needs and build school capacity.
- Act as a liaison with community agencies to ensure continuity of services.
- Provide follow‑up crisis counseling and refer to appropriate providers.
- Demonstrate evidence‑informed practices in interventions.
- Use data to assess needs and plan interventions for students, groups, and the whole school population.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and punctual records while safeguarding privacy and confidentiality as required by law and licensing.
- Meet the minimum professional development requirements set by the licensing board.
- Adhere to state and district reporting requirements related to safety concerns.
- Provide services within a multicultural context of understanding and competence.
- Empower students and families to access and use school and community resources.
- Assist with onboarding new KIPP families.
