In the current school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region is comprised of four schools educating more than 2,700 students, kindergarten through eleventh grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.
Responsibilities- Instruct students across grade levels and sections in high school band.
- Coordinate and supervise performances; inventory instruments.
- Ensure students are exposed to band instruction and provide access to instruments as the school grows.
- Develop a long-term vision for band programs, including marching band, jazz ensemble, and drumline.
- Create a positive classroom environment, implement curriculum, assess students, collaborate with the electives department, build relationships with families, and perform other duties as assigned by the school leader.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification (Music K-12)
- At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom
- Deep commitment to racial and educational equity for all children
- Pass background check as required by law
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of high school band experience
- Experience with high school jazz band, ensemble, or marching band
- Starting salary for a first-year lead teacher: $50,000

Please note the location of Bold City High School is the McDuff campus located at 1440 McDuff Avenue North.
HoursFor the current school year, teachers work Monday through Friday with occasional meetings or events outside these hours. Hours may vary by school.
- K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm; K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm;
Wednesday 1:30pm dismissal - High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm;
High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm;
Wednesday 12:30pm dismissal
Every Wednesday is a student early release day to support weekly professional development and content team meetings.
