Role OverviewThe Lead Compressor Technician, working with minimal supervision, leads maintenance and repair of compression, electrical generation, and ancillary station equipment. Ensures compliance with environmental permits and regulations. Acts as a subject matter expert in statewide compressor operations, providing technical support and guidance.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED.
- 8+ years of experience in compressor operations, engine, generator, turbine mechanics, or electronics troubleshooting and repair.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, schematics, and diagrams.
- Strong communication skills for reporting and presentations.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, OSHA, DOT codes, and regulations.
- Experience with tuning, calibrating controls, and pipeline equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical codes and safety procedures.
- Understanding of process control, telecommunication equipment, and control programming.
Work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, electrical voltages up to 480V, and outdoor elements. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Availability for 24/7 callout, emergency response, and work on weekends and holidays is required.
