Purpose

Of Position

The EHS Coordinator (Bilingual) is responsible for implementing and completing EHS initiatives in a production environment. This role requires a high level of understanding of OSHA Guidelines, general safety requirements and Globally Harmonized Safety Data Sheets. Teamwork and communication skills are essential, as the coordinator will work closely with EHS, manufacturing and quality teams to ensure issues are communicated and resolved in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate should be self‑motivated, able to manage multiple project assignments, and willing to learn and adapt within a fast‑paced organization. Occasional travel may be required, less than 10%.

Essential Functions
  • Maintains and completes routine safety inspections (fire extinguishers, cranes, emergency eye wash stations/showers, forklift, etc.), including required electronic checklists, tracking audit findings, responses and audit close‑outs.
  • Completes JSAs and PPE assessments for new equipment and processes.
  • Delivers training to employees, including EHS new hire orientation.
  • Maintains and updates facility emergency maps and emergency response plans.
  • Responsible for safety shoe voucher program and organization.
  • Supports facility leaders with incident investigations and ensures incident management system is current.
  • Communicates consistently and effectively to all cross‑functional team members to ensure EHS improvements and changes are understood and questions are answered to move projects forward.
  • Assists EHS leaders with completion of administrative tasks and record retention.
  • Executes EHS initiatives at facility level with support from EHS leadership.
  • Maintains chemical inventory database that cross‑references GHS Safety Data Sheets. Responsible for ensuring that each SDS is current and approved within the system and accessible to all employees.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Competencies
  • Must be bilingual English and Spanish, spoken and written (fluency level: minimum of advanced mid).
  • Organization Skills Including Attention to Detail and Multitasking.
  • Thoroughness.
  • Working Knowledge of OSHA and other Regulatory Agencies.
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel.
  • Ability to recognize and recommend solutions to streamline processes with the end user in mind.
  • Able to navigate conflict professionally and work toward resolution and knows when to seek support.
  • Capability to present information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to role‑model high standards of professionalism.
  • Must be driven and self‑motivated with excellent follow‑through.
  • Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to excellent work quality.
  • Ability to manage complex projects.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree; preferred focus in environmental health and safety; related years of experience will also be considered.
  • Experience in production/manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of data collection, record keeping and statistics a plus.
