Service Engineer

The ESS Services Engineer reports to the Service Lead and is responsible for supporting the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of installed ESS projects. During project execution, the engineer ensures the project is ready for transition to a Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA). The engineer supports closing out engineering actions and punchlist items after project delivery and provides ongoing support to Saft technicians, Service Managers, and Authorized Agents throughout the LTSA and O&M phases.

The ideal candidate will have experience in optimizing DC and AC coupled Battery Energy Storage Systems (ESS), system integration, and ESS controller design.

• Reviewing project documentation, design specifications, block diagrams, and system interfaces to facilitate support to customers and the services team.
• Supporting troubleshooting, diagnosis, and root cause analysis during operations.
• Understanding interfaces of BESS, PCS, PPC/SCADA, and PMS, and interpreting related diagrams and schematics.
• Validating specifications, design, and certification of BESS integration projects post-transition to O&M.
• Developing action plans, work instructions, and supporting onsite work execution.
• Providing technical support during bid phases and offering feedback for project improvements.
• Applying best engineering practices, submitting analysis tickets, and coordinating performance tests.
• Developing safety and customer satisfaction-focused engineering support, including RCA and technical bulletins.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards such as NFPA 855, UL9540, UL1973, and others.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Systems and/or Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of power systems, battery systems, and controls.
• Understanding of power generation, energy, and related business aspects.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50%.
