As a Graduate Engineer at LJA Transportation
, you will be responsible for gaining hands‑on experience in traffic studies, data analysis, and traffic engineering. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers on a variety of projects, contributing to real‑world solutions that impact communities.
- Assist in conducting traffic impact studies, signal warrant analyses, and corridor evaluations.
- Collect, process, and analyze traffic data including volume counts, speed studies, and crash data.
- Support the development of traffic models using tools such as Synchro, HCS, and VISSIM.
- Prepare technical reports, figures, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
- Conduct field visits and site assessments as needed.
- Collaborate with project managers and senior engineers to support project delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- Engineer Intern (EI) certification required or in progress.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- 2+ years experience with traffic engineering principles and software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and basic GIS tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and grow in a fast‑paced consulting environment. - Ability to build strong relationships.
- Internship or academic project experience involving FDOT standards or Florida-based transportation projects.
- Exposure to FDOT’s Traffic Engineering Manual (TEM) or Plans Preparation Manual (PPM) is a plus.
