What a day at EXP has in store for you- CAD proficient with working CAD drawings.
- Prepare and review calculations for loads.
- Thorough knowledge of codes.
- Edit specifications to reflect project requirements.
- Develop equipment room sizes during SD and DD phases.
- Select and schedule equipment.
- Meet with vendors to determine specification requirements.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (MEP/FP, Architecture, Structural, etc.).
- Respond to RFIs and review submittals accurately.
- Resolve installation problems.
- Apply risk management procedures daily to minimize exposure.
- Plan work and manage the design process within allocated hours.
- Define proper scope for SD, DD, and CD level documents.
- Collaborate with PC, PM, and Clients to meet project milestones.
- Manage and deliver revisions (ASI’s, sketches, etc.) with proper numbering conventions.
- Edit and develop scope of work narratives (SD, basis of design, etc.).
- Understand specific engineering requirements for application within a market sector.
- Provide existing experience details relevant to projects.
- Mentor designer‑level staff and guide their responsibilities.
- Maintain responsible charge meeting design and quality levels.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews of all calculations and provide guidance.
- Define content of drawings and specs for designers to meet scope.
- Develop and monitor work plans in conjunction with PMs.
- Ensure code compliance in designs.
- Deliver on budgeted hours across multiple projects.
- Write studies and reports for HVAC systems.
- Document sequences of operations for AHUs, CHWs, and HW systems.
- Apply concepts of CHW, HW, WSHP, variable & constant flow systems.
- Select air-side and hydronic components (CV, VAV, coils, fans, boilers, chillers, towers, etc.).
- Apply psychometrics and climate‑specific design.
- Analyze advanced equipment (DX, heat pumps, filters, etc.).
- Assess humid climate design risks and energy concepts.
- 7+ years in project management/mechanical design.
- PE License.
- Professional engineering license and a degree in engineering.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Preferred experience in data center, mission critical, or telecom industry.
- Building design experience is mandatory.
