Arcadis is looking for a Senior Water Design Manager to join our Resilience Water Team with 10 or more years’ experience in planning, design and/or construction of water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure including treatment plants and pump station projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a self‑motivated engineer to support one of the best‑qualified municipal consulting firms in the country.

• Serve as lead designer and/or design manager of water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure including treatment plants, pump stations, and hydraulic structures such as intakes and/or gate projects. Responsibilities include layout development, hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, and development of contract drawings and specifications.
• Exercise engineering judgement to develop solutions to complex water infrastructure challenges.
• Coordinate with clients, Project Managers, and multidisciplinary teams during all project phases, from schematic design to construction.
• Engage in Arcadis’ national process mechanical practice, serve as a technical resource for the region, and provide mentoring of junior engineers to grow our team’s capabilities in South Florida.
• Participate in Arcadis’ quality culture by performing quality assurance and control reviews of water infrastructure.
• Establish client relationships and support pump station marketing and pursuit efforts.
• Scoping and budgeting tasks for water infrastructure projects.

• 10 years of pump station design experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study.
• Florida PE License or ability to obtain within 6 months.

• Excellent technical engineering in design of water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure including treatment plants and pump stations.
• Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills and excellent technical writing skills.
• Experience managing preparation of and reviewing and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Client relationship skills; including preparation and development of proposals and client management experience with a successful track record of delivering various engineering projects to the expectations of the client.
• Functional experience with MS Office applications.

• 15+ years of experience. Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering or an MBA.
• Experience with large and complex water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure.
• Experience with complex pumping systems such as diesel driven pumps. Familiarity with pump station design standards such as Hydraulic Institute Standards and USACE Engineering Manuals.
• Experience with key clients in South Florida.
