Overview

Bio‑Rad is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in the West Palm Beach, FL area to perform repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on our Clinical Diagnostics instruments for customers in hospitals and laboratories. As a Field Service Engineer, you may also be asked to travel on short notice to support other team members within the region.

Whether a routine maintenance call or troubleshooting a problem and finding solutions, as our Field Service Engineer, you will play a leading role in supporting the onsite technical needs of Bio‑Rad customers. In this highly autonomous role, you will spend the majority of your time at customer sites, with travel up to 5 days a week in your assigned territory as part of a national service team.

No day or week will look the same, and your work will have a direct impact on Bio‑Rad's success!

The environment and culture for this role is fast‑paced and you'll be constantly "on the go". It requires the ability to solve complex problems while maintaining strong relationships with our customers.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Perform repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on Bio‑Rad instruments, ensuring quality performance for customers advancing the future of healthcare.
  • Support and maintain instruments that customers rely on to make scientific breakthroughs.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships allowing you to anticipate and advocate for customer needs.
  • Adhere to FDA and GMP regulations with detailed record keeping and service documentation to protect Bio‑Rad's integrity.
What You Bring

  • At least 3 years of field service experience servicing electro‑mechanical/electronic/optical/robotics equipment and an A.S. or B.S. in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (or a related field or military equivalent experience).
  • Ability to read, understand and follow medium to highly complex work instructions.
  • Strong electro‑mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong computer skills and fundamental knowledge of computer networking.
  • Strong customer relation and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for daily travel.

Preferred skills to support your success:

  • Hands‑on experience with Diagnostic or Life Science instruments.

Compensation

The estimated base salary range for this position is $63,100 to $86,800 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer and is based on several factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus dependent on achievement of your individual objectives and company performance.
