Responsibilities- Preliminary assessments
- Concept creation
- Internal and external problem resolution
- Drawing and specification production
- Customer and vendor accessibility
- Design engineer of record (EoR) for designs
- Provide coverage for project leads
- Lead projects depending on bandwidth
- Lead BIM designers in preparation of engineering drawings
- DIV 27 specification creation or modification
- Conduct site visits
- Review technical documents
- Learn from senior team leaders and be mentored
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Sign and seal telecommunications design packages
- Mentor other team members
- Identify processes to make the department run more efficiently
- Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited college
- Minimum eight years’ experience actively designing or leading designs for telecommunications structured cabling systems
- Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards
- Thorough knowledge of NFPA 70 and its application to telecommunications structured cabling systems
- Proficiency with Bluebeam
- Self‑motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers, and clients
- Excellent project management skills
- Familiarity with responding to RFPs
- Experience in providing quality assurance and checking of telecommunications systems designed by others
- Experience with start‑up and commissioning of telecommunications systems
- Experience creating a budget for a project
- Experience creating and maintaining a project schedule
- Experience identifying and mitigating company risk
- PE license, with ability to obtain multiple PE licenses required
- Four years telecommunications design experience in data centers
- Experience working on other low‑voltage systems including security, audio/visual, and wireless
- Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design software platforms
- Knowledge of telecom infrastructure for control and security systems
- Thorough knowledge of CSI or AIA specification writing procedures
- Credential as an RCDD
