Licensed Structural Engineer – Jacksonville, FL
We are currently seeking a Licensed Structural Engineer to lead a design team for residential and commercial projects, including new construction, additions, remodels, structural repairs, modifications, surveys, inspections, and construction phase services.
Position Responsibilities- A firm understanding of both commercial and residential building structural systems and best material choices based on design, location, and use.
- Load calculations, performance criteria, and material/member selection.
- Preparation of as‑built drawings from existing buildings.
- Performance evaluations of structural systems in existing, sometimes damaged, buildings.
- Creating required drawings and specifications using building codes and industry standards.
- Researching building codes (historical and current).
- Field assessment to include working from ladders, lifts, scaffolds, and rooftops.
- 1‑5 years as a licensed Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer.
- BS in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Passed Florida PE Exam.
- Working knowledge of structural systems and design/analysis/construction.
- Design/analysis experience with reinforced concrete, masonry, wood, and steel.
- Knowledge of building codes and experience reviewing plans and specifications.
- Strong computer skills.
- Drafting (AutoCAD) experience required.
- Modeling (REVIT) experience desired.
- Structural analysis (ETABS, ENERCALC, etc.) experience desired.
