Our client, a $500M/yr WWTP, site development and public works general contractor, is seeking a full-time Job Cost Engineer to join their team in Jacksonville, FL. The ideal candidate will have a background in self-performing Public Works, Site Work, and/or WWTP construction projects, and will work closely with Project Management to ensure jobs are on-time and under budget.
You will excel as an internal project accountant and will help track the project's money and performance metrics. You will play a pivotal role in your projects' success as you act as a "performance policeman" by tracking costs and alerting management of potential issues.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management with 3-5 years of Project Engineering or Cost Engineering experience.
- Experience in Heavy Civil construction engineering, budgeting, accounting, and management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Act as an internal accountant for the individual projects under your stewardship.
- Track money and performance metrics, and identify trends. Work with your team to make sure the job finishes on time and under budget.
- Developing and implementing engineering analyses for new projects, including project cost estimates, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and other project-related activities.
