Position SummaryMott Mac Donald is seeking an experienced Principal Project Manager with a focus on large infrastructure transportation projects, to be based in Florida — most specifically Tampa, Orlando, or Jacksonville. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with our existing talented engineers on some of the largest projects locally and across the country, often across multiple projects varying in size and complexity.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage roadway design and projects that are in construction in Florida and some southeastern states.
- Review, position and pursue projects for FDOT districts, counties and associated agencies.
- Develop project plans, scopes, and budgets.
- Manage project timelines and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.
- Design and plan roadway geometrics, intersections, and other related features.
- Perform engineering analyses and calculations.
- Ensure projects comply with relevant standards, regulations, and codes.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively.
- Provide feedback and coaching to team members.
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and other parties involved in the project.
- Represent the project team and company to external parties.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or other related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida.
- At least 20+ years experience in highway design and local streets.
- Familiarity with Florida Department of Transportation engineering practices, standards and documentation.
- Good decision‑making skills, flexibility, focus on quality and attention to detail.
- Interact and communicate effectively with design team members, clients and other agencies.
- Ability to coordinate the work on various project design tasks.
- Proficient technical experience with Microstation, Bentley ORD, and Microsoft Office software.
