Summary
- Provide administrative support for on‑boarding new engineers and admins.
- Create and update mechanical drawings/fabrication documentation for switch gear and switchboard products, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, NEC, IEC, ANSI, UL, NEMA).
- Work within IEM systems to create Bill of Materials following IEM best practices and industry standards.
- Collaborate with production planners to surface scheduling issues to Engineering.
- Generate reports from the Mechanical Engineering dashboard at routine intervals for ME managers during status meetings.
- Help maintain team project communication, schedules, and all aspects of the design cycle for moderately complex projects and customer orders.
- Ensure cross‑functional team collaboration with production planners and manufacturing engineering department.
- Support the design‑to‑order (DTO) engineering process to help maintain customer lead time and quality expectations.
- Technical institute certificate or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
- Must have experience with 2D CAD software (AutoCAD preferred).
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D mechanical drawings.
- Experience in engineering or manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of production requirements and ability to effectively communicate with colleagues.
- Experience with Solid Works is preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to act as interface between production and the engineering team.
- High degree of interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, fluent in English.
- Desire to develop skills through on‑the‑job experience to advance manufacturing processes.
