MISTRAS Group is seeking a Fulltime ET Tube Level II Technician to perform the following requirements.
Responsibilities- Perform Eddy Current (ET) testing on heat exchanger and condenser tubing in accordance with ASME, ASTM, and client specifications.
- Set up, calibrate, and operate ET equipment, including probe selection and instrumentation verification.
- Interpret ET signals to identify, size, and characterize defects such as pitting, wall loss, cracking, and fretting.
- Document inspection results accurately, prepare field reports, and communicate findings to clients and project supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with written procedures, quality requirements, and safety standards during all inspection activities.
- Assist with development and refinement of ET procedures and techniques under Level III guidance.
- Perform equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure reliable inspection performance.
- Support outage and shutdown inspections, working efficiently under time‑sensitive conditions.
- Current ET Level II certification in accordance with ASNT SNT‑TC‑1A, CP‑189, or employer‑based written practice.
- Documented ET classroom training hours and on‑the‑job experience meeting Level II requirements.
- Proven experience performing ET tube inspections on heat exchangers, condensers, boilers, or similar tubular assets.
- Ability to set up, calibrate, and operate ET instrumentation and probes.
- Demonstrated competency in signal interpretation, defect characterization, and reporting.
- Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and client specifications (ASME, ASTM, API, etc.).
- Ability to accurately complete inspection reports, data logs, and electronic documentation.
- Strong understanding of QA/QC requirements and adherence to written procedures.
- Ability to work in industrial environments, including confined spaces, elevated areas, and varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to work outages, shutdowns, nights, weekends, and travel as required.
- Ability to lift and carry inspection equipment (typically up to 50 lbs).
- Visual acuity and manual dexterity required for ET inspection activities.
- Experience with multi‑frequency and array ET techniques.
- Prior work in power generation, refinery, petrochemical, or utility environments.
- Additional NDT certifications (MT, PT, UT, RT) are a plus.
- Strong client communication and teamwork skills.
