Civil Engineer - Land Development

Overview

GAI Consultants, Inc. seeks a creative, team-oriented, and motivated Land Development Engineer to join our Orlando and Jacksonville, Florida offices. The role involves mentoring staff, preparing engineering design calculations and construction plans to support residential, commercial, and municipal projects, including site grading, stormwater, utility design, and drainage and utility reports.

• Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Florida land development permitting experience required
• Assisting with proposal and report generation
• Ability to cultivate new client relationships
• Excellent communication skills (written, oral) and ability to work in a collaborative, detail-oriented project team environment

• Education:
  
  B.S. or M.S. in Engineering
• Experience:
  
  6+ years
• Licenses &
  
  Certifications:
  
  Professional Engineer (P.E.) License
• Driver's License
• Florida land development permitting experience required

• Designs a complete project, system, component, or process
• Prepares complete plans, specifications, and other project documents
• Designs and conducts analyses and interprets test data
• Develops and reviews project documents for conformity and quality assurance

• Assigns tasks to other technical and non-technical staff
• Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the engineering work
• Prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments
• Assists with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for projects

• Receives general direction on key objectives and guidance on complex problems
• Mentors junior staff and reviews work products
• Attends project meetings and presents aspects of engineering assignments

• Communicates effectively to both technical and nontechnical audiences
