Senior Roadway Inspector

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Roadway Inspector to conduct inspections for our growing highway construction workload. This position will work out of our Jacksonville, FL office.

• Perform highly complex technical assignments such as in‑field surveying, construction layout, and engineering computations.
• Inspect construction work and conduct field tests.
• Coordinate and manage lower‑level inspectors.
• Work under general supervision of the Project Administrator.

Education

• High school diploma or better.

Experience

• 10 years of experience in roadway or bridge construction inspection.
• 2 years of experience in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection, excluding Complex Category 2 (CC2) bridge structures, or a Civil Engineering degree and 1 year of road & bridge CEI experience with the ability to earn additional required certifications within 1 year.

• CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection
• IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
• FDOT Advanced MOT
• CTQP Final Estimates Level I
• Nuclear Radiation Safety
• Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted.
• Must be capable of walking in steep varying terrain in all climate conditions.
• Must be able to drive.
