Senior Roadway Inspector
GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Roadway Inspector to conduct inspections for our growing highway construction workload. This position will work out of our Jacksonville, FL office.
Responsibilities- Perform highly complex technical assignments such as in‑field surveying, construction layout, and engineering computations.
- Inspect construction work and conduct field tests.
- Coordinate and manage lower‑level inspectors.
- Work under general supervision of the Project Administrator.
Education
- High school diploma or better.
Experience
- 10 years of experience in roadway or bridge construction inspection.
- 2 years of experience in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection, excluding Complex Category 2 (CC2) bridge structures, or a Civil Engineering degree and 1 year of road & bridge CEI experience with the ability to earn additional required certifications within 1 year.

- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I

- CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection
- IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
- FDOT Advanced MOT
- CTQP Final Estimates Level I
- Nuclear Radiation Safety
- Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted.
- Must be capable of walking in steep varying terrain in all climate conditions.
- Must be able to drive.
