The Associate Engineer develops foundational engineering knowledge and skills within a designated functional area by performing routine engineering assignments using established analysis methods, procedures, and techniques. Responsibilities may include conducting engineering investigations, performing analysis and design tasks, preparing portions of project documents, and supporting project plan review and field inspections for small to medium projects or assigned components of larger, more complex efforts.

  • Assist in preparing Requests for Proposal (RFPs), reviewing vendor responses, and developing bid award recommendations consistent with JEA procurement guidelines and policies.
  • Participate in and support complex field inspections, including testing activities. Document and report non‑conformance with design plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders regarding engineering requirements and project activities.
