Systems Engineer, Telecoms Engineering, Wireless / 5G
Position Summary
The Judge Group is actively seeking an experienced, highly technical, and analytical RF Engineer IV with 7+ years of specialized In-Building RF design and optimization experience to join our engineering operations across the United States on a full-time W2 contract basis. In this critical wireless infrastructure role, you will be responsible for leading complex in-building wireless systems (DAS, iDAS, oDAS, C-RAN, D-RAN), driving RF optimization for LTE and 5G , and managing technical project milestones.
You will leverage your deep practical proficiency in iBwave Design (Level 3 certification preferred), Atoll radio planning tools, OEM network platforms (Ericsson, Samsung), and emerging generative AI tools to ensure uncompromised indoor cellular coverage and performance. This opportunity requires an elite RF engineering professional with strong project management capabilities and W2 work authorization.
Job Description
As an RF Engineer IV supporting nationwide U.S. deployments via The Judge Group, you will take full technical ownership of complex in-building radio frequency engineering, venue coverage modeling (stadiums, large enterprise venues), and technical project leadership. Your day-to-day responsibilities include designing robust indoor wireless networks, running Atoll prediction models, configuring Ericsson and Samsung OEM equipment (Air Scale, eNB), and maintaining iBwave Level 3 design documentation.
You will oversee technical project management tasks, coordinate cross-functional deployment teams, analyze propagation metrics, and integrate cutting-edge generative AI workflows (such as NotebookLM and Claude) to streamline engineering productivity and design validation across diverse venue architectures.
- Design, optimize, and validate advanced In-Building Wireless (IBW) systems including DAS, iDAS, oDAS, C-RAN, and D-RAN architectures.
- Perform rigorous RF design, capacity planning, and coverage optimization for 4G LTE and 5G across major venues and stadiums.
- Utilize iBwave Design (Level 3 standards) to generate detailed indoor RF blueprints, BOMs, and signal distribution layouts.
- Operate Atoll radio planning tools to conduct advanced propagation modeling, frequency planning, and interference analysis.
- Configure, integrate, and troubleshoot OEM network equipment including Ericsson (Air Scale, eNB) and Samsung platforms.
- Spearhead technical project management duties, overseeing project milestones, contractor deliverables, and technical work streams for 3+ years.
- Integrate generative AI tools (e.g., NotebookLM, Claude) into engineering analysis and design documentation workflows.
- Collaborate with carrier clients, venue owners, and deployment teams to ensure seamless integration and regulatory compliance.
- Minimum of 7+ years of professional hands-on experience specializing in In-Building RF design, DAS engineering, and network optimization.
- Minimum of 3+ years of technical project management experience within telecommunications or wireless infrastructure deployments.
- iBwave Level 3 certification (recent certificate expirations may be considered for highly qualified candidates).
- Expert proficiency in RF design principles for LTE and 5G across indoor and venue environments.
- Hands-on familiarity with major network OEM equipment vendors, specifically Ericsson and Samsung platforms.
- Advanced practical skills in Atoll radio planning software and propagation prediction models.
- Hands-on experience leveraging generative AI tools (e.g., NotebookLM, Claude) for technical tasks and documentation.
- Mandatory W2 employment candidate eligibility with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced postgraduate degrees in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related technical fields.
- Prior professional experience designing wireless coverage for high-density stadiums, transit hubs, and enterprise campuses.
- Certifications in PMP, Scrum, or advanced Atoll/iBwave specializations.
- Experience with EME (Electromagnetic Energy) compliance testing and safety reporting.
- Strong scripting or automation background for RF data post-processing.
