Position Description
You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MATERIALS) in the FST ENGINEERING DIV, FST DEPT of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.
Position Duties/Responsibilities- You will lead and guide engineers, technicians, artisans, quality assurance and production management in troubleshooting material processing for aircraft components to include selection application and testing.
- You will actively investigate and resolve complex technical issues that may involve adapting established criteria, working with incomplete data or resolving conflicting information.
- You will serve as a senior technician for complex material-related failure analyses and aircraft mishap investigations.
- You will develop modify, adapt and validate new or non-standard test methods and processing techniques, and repair procedures for a variety of aerospace materials where precedents are limited.
- You will use standard laboratory equipment as necessary for sample preparation and testing and ensure that equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
