Business Hours of Operation: Monday-Thursday, 8:00AM-6:00PM and Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM

Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the role will be to assist in executing responsibilities related to pricing, reserving, and data analysis support for Underwriting, Claims, Marketing, Sales, Accounting, and IT.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Technical lead for pricing, reserving, data analytics, or predictive modeling.
  • Work closely with executive leadership team and key stakeholders across the organization to facilitate data-driven decision making.
  • Provide thought leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering technical excellence and innovation.
  • Develop and prepare analysis utilizing accepted actuarial techniques to lead technical actuarial projects.
  • Communicate analysis results and proposals to management, regulators, and other non-technical users both in writing and orally.
  • Identify opportunities to improve rating/reserving systems by increasing efficiency.
  • Conduct rating and underwriting research, search for competitor filings, and identify and analyze variables and algorithms for improved risk segmentation.
  • Work with vendors and regulators as necessary to ensure expeditious regulatory approval of company filings.
  • Available to work outside of normal business hours for catastrophic events as pertains to the business.

Qualifications (Education/Experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or related fields.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS).
  • 5+ years of professional experience in actuarial, insurance, or related fields.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in maintaining critical and sensitive information, records, and reports.
  • Ability to use critical thinking skills to arrive at solutions.
  • Ability to prepare clear, accurate and concise financial records and reports.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Advanced skill in the use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Advanced SQL skills.
  • Actuarial modeling skills, e.g., pricing, reserving, predictive modeling, etc.
Skills Preferred
  • Understanding of the Florida residential insurance market.
  • Extensive experience with Actuarial pricing or predictive modeling.
  • Experience with data visualization tools, e.g., Power

    BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Experience with mapping software, e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.
