Operational Risk Sr Analyst is a seasoned professional role that applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and improvement of processes and workflow for the area or function. The role integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area, requires an in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function, and coordinates and contributes to the objectives of the function and overall business.

This role evaluates complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, develops approaches, and balances conflicting situations using multiple sources of information.

• Participates in the application of operational risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
• Contributes to risk assessments and drives actions to address root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
• Ensures completion of projects, special assignments, and other ad hoc activities as required.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
• Operates with a limited level of direct supervision and exercises independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
• Assesses risk appropriately when business decisions are made, demonstrating a consideration for the firm’s reputation, safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations. Adheres to policy, applies sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalates, manages and reports control issues with transparency.

• 5-8 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer focused with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating across diverse groups.
• Demonstrated understanding of operational risk and gap identification.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to present a compelling case to influence others when appropriate.
• Extensive knowledge of SAS & SQL.

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.

This is an Analytics role. The successful candidate must have experience with SAS/SQL and other analytical tools.
