Our Controller will play a pivotal role, providing strategic financial leadership in our fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. This critical role, reporting directly to the CFO, will be instrumental in scaling our finance function through organic growth and acquisitions. You will lead a high-performing team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, robust internal controls, and insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Based in Jacksonville, Florida, you will play a key role in integrating acquired companies and optimizing our financial systems.

Core Responsibilities: This hands-on leadership position demands a strategic thinker with a strong technical accounting background and a passion for process improvement. You will lead the consolidated financial close process, ensure compliance with GAAP, and provide insightful financial guidance to drive profitability and growth.
- Financial Close Leadership: Lead the consolidated financial close process (month-end, quarter-end, year-end) across all entities, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of financial statements.
- Technical Accounting & Reporting: Oversee all accounting operations (general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets), ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. Stay abreast of current accounting pronouncements.
- Financial Analysis and Insights: Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Provide insightful recommendations to senior management, influencing decision‑making and developing/monitoring KPIs.
- Accounting Policy and Procedure Leadership: Establish and maintain robust accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
- Financial Reporting and Compliance: Oversee the preparation and distribution of accurate financial reports, both internal and external.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Contribute to the development and monitoring of the annual budget and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and analyze budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic decision‑making.
- Process Improvement & Automation: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes, leveraging technology to improve efficiency.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing environment.
- Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with other departments, integrating financial considerations into business decisions. - Integration Support: Play a key role in integrating acquired companies into our financial systems and processes.
- Compliance & Controls: Ensure compliance with regulations and internal controls, developing and maintaining strong internal control procedures.
- Audit Management: Manage the annual financial audit process.
- System Administration (Net Suite): Leverage Net Suite expertise to optimize its use within the finance department.
- Special Projects: Contribute to due diligence, financing transactions, and other strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA or MBA preferred.
- 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with 3-5 years in a Controller or similar leadership role.
- Strong technical accounting skills and deep understanding of GAAP.
- Experience building and managing finance teams.
- Experience with M&A integration is highly desirable.
- Experience with Net Suite is a plus.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Detail‑oriented and organized.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
