PositionSummary
The Senior Financial Analyst plays a critical supporting role within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This position is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision‑making processes across the organization. The Senior Financial Analyst partners with business leaders to provide data‑driven insights and ensure alignment with organizational goals. This individual also supports strategic initiatives, reporting, and financial modeling under the guidance of the Director of FP&A.
EssentialJob Functions
- Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long‑term financial plans.
- Maintain and enhance financial models used to assess business performance and initiatives.
- Perform monthly variance analysis comparing actuals to budget/forecast; investigate and explain key variances.
- Business & Strategic Support
- Partner with department leaders to support financial reviews, business cases, and ad‑hoc analysis.
- Analyze trends, KPIs, and financial metrics to identify risks and opportunities.
- Assist in evaluating pricing strategies, capital expenditures, and operational initiatives.
- Reporting & Communication
- Prepare management reports and dashboards for key stakeholders.
- Develop presentations that summarize financial results, forecasts, and scenario analyses.
- Support the Director of FP&A in preparing board‑level and executive reports.
- Process Improvement
- Contribute to the development and standardization of FP&A processes and tools.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate data collection and reporting tasks.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of corporate finance, strategic planning, and performance management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present complex data to non‑financial stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence in a matrixed organization.
- High attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience in a private equity‑backed or high‑growth company is a plus.
- Recognize and maintain confidential information and operate with discretion.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or corporate finance.
- Healthcare experience a plus, specifically in ASC and Physician Practice settings.
- Experience working with budgeting, ERP, and financial planning systems to support forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis.
- Proficiency in Power BI or similar business intelligence tools for data visualization, dashboard development, and operational insights.
- Demonstrated ability to extract, analyze, and interpret data from EHR and practice management systems (e.g., Next Gen, Athena, Epic or comparable platforms).
- Skilled in data mining across financial, clinical and operational systems to support decision‑making and process improvement.
- Ability to integrate data from multiple technical systems to produce accurate, actionable management reports.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to communicate in English.
